According to Article 69, paragraph 2 on the classification, packaging and labelling of biocidal products of Regulation 528/2012, authorisation holders shall ensure that labels are not misleading as regards the risks posed by the product to human, animal or environmental health, or its quality, and, in any case, do not bear the indications "reduced risk biocidal product", "non-toxic", "natural", "environmentally friendly", "animal friendly" or similar indications.
In this context, the references "plant-based ingredients", "with antibacterial agent of plant origin", "plant-based ingredients", "natural ingredients" and other similar ones are considered misleading to consumers regarding the safe use of biocidal products and are not acceptable. Also, the use of icons that imply the presence of plant-based ingredients is not acceptable.
